This is a podcast on men’s and dad’s mental health, healing trauma. sharing stories, kicking asses and taking names. I keep it real in here 100... I have a compassionate approach but I also know what it’s like to grow up and come from a shit place and taking lessons from the school of hard knocks. I appeal to men who are still opposed to hugging it out as a resolution. Let’s face this shit head on and get real with ourselves. Let’s be unmanly in talking about our problems, but deal with it in a manlier way... i guess? Episode 17 - The Mask of Masculinity (Book Review)
Friday Jan 01, 2021
Friday Jan 01, 2021
Acie reviews the amazing book The Mask of Masculinity by Lewis Howes which was pivotal in kickstarting his passion for men's mental health.
Lewis identifies 9 masks men where that correspond to their beliefs and ideas about masculinity. When men wear one or a combination of these masks, their thoughts and actions are often egotistically directed by them.
This book is a cakewalk to read and is highly recommended for anybody who wants to make practical sense of the male ego.

Episode 14 - Black Lives Matter - A Reflection
Tuesday Jun 16, 2020
Tuesday Jun 16, 2020
The boys reflect on last episode's conversation with César Ndéma-Moussa and a few days after the historic Black Lives Matter rally in Canada's capitol city, Ottawa.
10,000 people came and marched for justice and to end systemic racism. The introduction clip was of Cesar Ndéma-Moussa closing the rally with a powerful speech. We actually didn't know that he would go on to have such a role in this historic day and march when we recorded with him and this just made us even more grateful to have him on our show.
In this episode LV discusses his rollercoaster of emotions during the last several weeks including his skepticism on where we are headed in the future. Acie discusses the important lessons that he's learned over the last few weeks too. We discuss virtue signalling and a lot of other topics and issues that are the forefront of mainstream media with regards to black civil rights and equality.

Episode 13 - Black Lives Matter - A History Lesson with Cesar Ndéma-Moussa
Wednesday Jun 03, 2020
Wednesday Jun 03, 2020
On the wake of the senseless murder of brother George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota; the world is up in arms at the travesty that is the systemic racism and the ongoing and perpetual oppression of black people and their civil rights.
We take a long look at black history even beyond the days of slavery and observe the subtleties of systemic racism. Police brutality is just a catalyst. The issue runs deep within the roots of this world and permeates everything from our language, to our preferences and our way of thinking.
César is a scholar, a teacher, a freedom fighter and an activist from Cameroon, raised in France & Canada. He has written a thesis on the inequality of international relations due to race. He's the president of Roots and Culture, the Eastern Ontario director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity including Inclusivity in Child Welfare. He is a leader against racism, sexism, xenophobia, islamophobia and discrimination against the LGBT community.
We had the deep pleasure of speaking to him and learning from him in this episode. Please enjoy and share.
